Piezosurgery unit
Specifically, it is applicable to atraumatic tooth extractions in areas that will receive dental implants, ridge splinting procedures, autogenous graft harvesting from the chin or the mandible, and, of course, to open and closed sinus elevations.
Especially in the case of open sinus elevation, the use of piezosurgery offers great comfort intraoperatively, since it is much more friendly in soft tissues than the conventional method with a straight surgical handpiece. Events such as puncturing or traumatizing the vessels in the area resulting in perfuse bleeding are minimized. Moreover an event such as perforation of the sinus membrane that sometimes results in the need to repeat the technique is again minimized. The perforation rates of the membrane fall from 25% by the conventional method to 12% or much less in the various investigations.
