Gingivitis treatment
Gingivitis is an inflammation that develops in the gums due to insufficient removal of the microbial agent, which is called dental plaque. The most common symptoms are a change in gum’s color to dark red, bad breath and bleeding both when brushing and automatically in more severe situations. If gingivitis is not treated, it is likely to lead to more serious conditions such as periodontitis. However, gingivitis is an easily treatable and completely reversible condition. Usually, a form of gingivitis, also occurs during pregnancy.
The treatment of gingivitis is basically removing the microbial plaque and the tartar, by dental cleaning. Within a few weeks the health fully returns and the symptoms subside. Caution!!! Factors such as smoking can mask symptoms such as bleeding as they cause vasoconstriction and reduce blood flow.
